Project
St James Church
Details

Recently completed on site the works involved external repairs and internal remodeling of this Gothic Revival church in a suburb of Liverpool. whilst not listed it is located in a Conservation Area.

Like for like external repairs have been carried out including complete re-roofing in slate with fish tail detailing, replacement sandstone pillars to the ‘Crown’ and re-pointing in lime mortar. Internally the aim was to create a space which is flexible and welcoming.

Part of the alterations included gaining Planning Permission to remove the existing outer heavy doors and replace them with fully etched and glazed screens. The existing removed doors are being retained on site in a ‘fixed open’ position to ensure there is no loss of historic fabric.
